John VIII Palaeologus, 1425-1448. Follaro (Bronze, 15 mm, 0.59 g, 12 h), Constantinopolis. Christ, nimbate, wearing mandorla, standing facing, raising his right hand in benediction. Rev. John VIII standing facing, wearing crown, holding scepter surmounted by cross in his right hand; ω in field to left. Lianta 1094. SB 2568. Very rare. Struck somewhat off center and with a minor edge crack, otherwise, very fine.
